Working one on one provides a unique opportunity to deepen awareness, reprocess and heal trauma, learn to regulate emotions, thoughts and sensations for greater internal peace, understand relational patterns, and identify and heal what stands in the way of you being your best self.

Moving from a place of "I don't want to feel these emotions, they are bad, make them go away" to a place of "emotions are intelligent energies or information that are trying to tell us something important" gives us the opportunity to understand or "stand under" and mindfully accept the experience as is, make the unconscious conscious, and ultimately gain freedom from reactivity to proactivity through the relationship in therapy, the power of knowledge, and the reprocessing of emotion.  The resulting movement and growth that this creates often reduces the potency of the painful emotional experience and we are left with a healthier sense of being.

Individual Therapy

Because there is no one size fits all approach to therapy, I approach each Individual with a unique and customized integrated approach.

My specific therapist toolbox consists of approaches and techniques pulled from:

Psychodynamic Theory and Depth Psychology

Attachment Based and Object Relations

Person Centered Humanistic and Existential

Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused

Individual Emotion Focused Therapy

Mindfulness & Strength Based

In addition, I specialize in helping individual children, teens and adults to reduce anxiety, heal and grow in relatoinship with self and others, learn improved resilience and coping strategies, improve self esteem and identify core values.

Children & Adolescents

Divorce, stress, anxiety, anger, struggles with life transitions, gender identity and developmental concerns are just a few of the issues that bring children into my office. Partnering with parents and using play therapy, creative and art, and solution focused methods help children and teens gain an opportunity to explore who they are, how they feel, what they need and how to communicate it. My intention is for them to take away an imaginary tool bag of practical solutions that work for them.

Group Therapy

Therapist-led group therapy is useful both as a supplement and an alternative to individual therapy. It provides real-life feedback and interaction among each participant. Please see the Anxiety Groups page for more details.
